The Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Pathway To Engineering (PTE) curriculum is designed as a four-year high school sequence. Foundation courses (Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, and Digital Electronics) are supplemented by a number of electives to create eight rigorous, relevant, reality-based courses:
PRINCIPLES OF ENGINEERING (POE): JULY 19th - JULY 30th
Students explore technology systems and engineering processes to find out how math, science, and technology help people. This course uses student activities, projects, and problems to explore the wide variety of careers in engineering and technology through examining various technological systems and manufacturing processes. It includes
- Engineering Career Research,
- Build and Program Three Advanced Fischertechnik Projects,
- All About Simple Machines,
- Mathematic Calculations with Excel,
- Truss Calculations,
- West Point Bridge Builder Introduction,
- West Point Bridge Design,
- Moment of Inertia Activity with MDSolids,
- Instructions for the SPC Device,
- Material Testing Requirements,
- Materials Testing Formulas - Template,
- Centroids Activity with MDSolids.
